Guidelines

The following guidelines shall help to ensure a common look throughout MovieWiki and help layouting articles.

Images

  • The format of the images should be jpg if possible (for photos or screenshots from games), or png (for screenshots showing windows or programs).
  • All big images should be sized down for the display within the wikipage to an reasonable size (about 200 pixels in width). This can be done by appending ?200 to the filename. An Example:
    {{wiki:dokuwiki-128.png?200}}
  • When uploading images please pay attention to do this in the according namespace. Naming them similar like Articlename_imagename.png (i.e. xvid_screen1.png into the namespace Compression) would be helpful too.

Editing articles

  • Please always type a comprehension into the field bellow after editing. This eases maintenance and gives MovieWiki a more ordered look.

Creating a new article / layout

When adding a new article, one should consider the following design / layout rules about desig:

  • The title is a H1 headline.
  • Give a short introduction into the topic bellow the title.
  • Divide further blocks using H2 headlines, subblocks with smaller headlines.
